Meet Ahmad Lee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ahmad Lee.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
So I guess a good place my mother was a school teacher and I grew up helping her set up her classrooms every year. Every year her rooms would look amazing because he was so talented an creative (graphic/web designer/illustrator and painter). She would draw out characters and just do super cool and creative layouts. SO I grew up seeing her do that and I picked up on that creativeness. I started drawing ninja turtles and other cartoons then blossomed into this crazy abstract artist and designer over the years. I wake up everyday with a head full of ideas and just continue to push the envelope everyday and catch up on the millions of ideas I have in my sketchpad and iPhone notepad. I’ve been lucky to learn from some amazing artist, teachers and designers through the years and meet some special art collectors and clients in general that that pushed me forward and gave me the courage to growing and take on being a full time artist/creative for hopefully the rest of my life.

Please tell us about your art.
My art is really free flowing. I just get up and go nuts. I just start with a blank canvas really whatever is heavy on my mind at the time I try to throw it out on the canvas, computer or paper. I’m just all over the place but I work in a really wild manner, I literally have my computer out with a sketchbook book to draw in plus canvases with paint all in a small area and just work on everything at once. I’ve mastered this art of juggling a million things at once and being able to work efficiently with no problem. I do lots of digital art, marker and ink pieces along with mixed media and acrylic painting. my message is all over the place but I like to try and use figures from my childhood to convey whatever message it is I’m trying to convey at the moment. I also just want people to feel inspired and think when they look at my work. I use a lot of colors and try to crowd the page when I work with small hidden messages and lots of images merged together in this epic abstract blend.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
i’s say to other artist just be comfortable being you in your creative process and keep creating all day. If your work isn’t selling don’t let that discourage you at all just keep on getting out there and connecting with other artist and consumers big and small. Also don’t be afraid to DM or reach out the artist you admire or clients you see on social media or at shows. They are all willing to help usually or just give you a little advice.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
