Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Beltsos.
Angie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We started Vios Fertility to help patients achieve the dream of a family. I found my calling as a medical student to pursue a career in reproductive endocrinology and fertility treatment. What a ride it has been! Absolutely amazing! I finished my OB GYN training at Loyola and Fertility training at Washington University in St. Louis. At my prior job, I learned a lot about how to practice and things that work, things that don’t. Now, we focus on creating an unparalleled patient experience while getting the cutting-edge scientific and medical care.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. Smooth sea or road are handled by having the tenacity to pursue dreams by being courageous and trust your gut. Life is for living so don’t give up on what you want in your life. No matter what.
What should we know about Vios Fertility Institute? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a reproductive endocrinologist and fertility doctor who works in private practice in Chicago. I am the Medical Director and CEO of this company and am so excited to have the trust of the patients and community to do this work of helping people have a family. This brand is so unique in medicine and infertility care. We approach this field as Apple did instead of IBM ( no offense) but mean that we take a fresh view and try to make the experience exquisite, comfortable, and amazing while they achieve pregnancy or preserve fertility. The robust latest global cutting-edge therapies are brought in from the world’s experts to us. The fantastic and passionate team of clinical and laboratory staff will give their all to your care. Never have I seen this type of clinic and staff. It sets us apart.
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
Female leadership has unique characteristics that we have to bring to business and that is one that which may be our weakness is our strength. Multi-tasking, starting early and ending late, kind compassion and listening skills, are a few examples. We are used to taking care of people’s needs… and needs vary. Biggest barriers may be having the confidence to be taken seriously in our profession no matter what we look like. Shout it out with pride and be a team player can counter the room full of men who may also wonder if you know what you’re talking about as a woman. Don’t hide behind being a woman. Own your honors and own your mistakes.
