Your wedding invitation is so much more than just some junk mail that your guests will throw away. I create keepsakes that you will cherish for the rest of your lives. After the wedding, the food is gone, the flowers will die, and the cake gets eaten. Things you do get to hold onto are your photos and your paper goods! Let me create something special that you can look back on, show your children, and remember how wonderful your big day was. . . . #littlefoxpaperie #venueillustration #weddingmap #custommap #weddinginspo #weddinginspiration #customweddingstationery #customweddinginvitations #bridetobe #engaged #bespokestationery #pursuepretty #chicagobride #chicagoweddings #windycitybride #chicagoweddingvendors #chicagoweddingprofessionals #chicagoweddingstationery #chicagoweddinginvitations #midwestwedding #southernbride #weddinginvitations #weddingstationery #paperlove #chicagosmallbusiness #risingtidesociety #tuesdaystogether #communityovercompetition #weddingstationeryboss #weddingplanning

Resilience doesn’t make me extraordinary. It makes me quite ordinary, actually. It makes me… alive. Claiming resilience is like showing you all my battle wounds, 1 by 1. It inherently highlights the pain, adversity, trauma, &heartache. Claiming resilience reminds you of all the things I chose to get up from. I wonder, when did I first learn resilience? . Was it the time I became a yoga instructor to share this healing gift w/ people like me &had my poc class discontinued bc it was “reverse racism”? The time I was a 4.0 student &still got denied from every grad school I applied to? What about the time I moved to Korea &found myself homeless? Perhaps it was the time I leaned into vulnerability, expressed my love, &was met with discontent? The time I insensitively did the same to someone else? How about the time I planned to move to Chicago for a man I loved &was dumped on a snowy December eve on the 95th floor of a famous Chicago building? Oh, it had to be the time I was 15 &the claiming of my virginity was conspired among boys in some dark, back room? Or the time my ‘no’ was ignored as a young adult? Well, resilience definitely had to make it’s way to me the time in 2017 when my body was misused &consent was thrown out the window, again, right? Perhaps the time a doctor diagnosed me w/major depression… or the time a therapist diagnosed me w/ anxiety? The time my family broke my heart? . I keep trying to go back further in history, but these are the moments that stand out to me. Seeing them all together like this makes me feel uncomfortable &overwhelmed, so I can only imagine how you must feel. I suspect you feel a bit surprised, too? I know my life looks full & colorful & rich on the gram. But that’s because my life is incredibly full, wildly colorful, &deeply rich. It’s not just one or the other. These moments, these pivotal moments, still happened &I’m still healing &learning from them. Truth be told, these stories are WHY my life is so full & colorful & rich. They fuel me. Everyday. Every. Day. Everything I do is bc I’m still healing Her. I am healing for Her. I AM Healing For Her . And that’s what I call: Resilience. 📸: @deunivory
